Photographie ma Vie

This is a picture I posted on my main blog La vie 101 . For those who don’t know me, I have been marching Drum Corps since 1994. And more recently with the Brigadiers from Central New York. We were pretty successful from 1997 to 2004, when in a total of 81 competitions in 8 years we won 58 of them, got 2nd 21 times and 3rd 2 times, never getting lower than top 3. We won 5 DCA titles. In the 58 wins we had 3 undefeated seasons with a total of 46 shows won in a row (1999 to 2003) and 4 of those DCA titles in a row (99 to 02 that you see above). I joined the corps in 1999, so for the first 4 years of my DCA career I didn’t know anything else but winning. I had never won anything with my previous corps so it was pretty sweet to achieve that, finally. Now the medals up there read “WORLD Champions” but it should really read “NATIONAL champions” since the majority of corps are from the USA. You have one corps from Canada and one corps from Japan that came in once in a while but really… most Americans love all the success they can get and being World Champions is, I guess, much cooler than National Champions. lol

Anyhow, all this to say that, again, for those you don’t know me, I am also a graphic designer. Well, I studied and graduated college in 2000 but never look for a job in that field so it’s more a hobby now. 

And I created the 2000 medal. It doesn’t really exists. I gave mine away to one of the support staff that year. I wanted to see if I still had any photoshop skills so I made it up! I think it’s pretty decent!
